Saint Albans is to hold a course on Grief.Griefis a natural response to losing someone or something that's important to you. You may feel a variety of emotions, like sadness or loneliness. And you might experience it for a number of different reasons. Maybe a loved one died, a relationship ended, or you lost your job . Other life changes, like chronic illness or a move to a new home, can also lead to grief.
Everyone grieves differently. But if you understand your emotions, take care of yourself, and seek support, you can heal.
The course offered at St.Alban’s is designed to
- help us be more aware of grief in ourselves and in others.
- better equip us to be alongside others in grief.
- allow our faith to be deepened with an understanding of grief in life.
The course is to be held in the Church Hall, 11:00 am to 11:50 on three consecutive Sundays, July 23rd., July 30th., and August 6th..Those attending the 9:30 Mass can get a cuppa after the Mass and proceed to the Hall for an 11:00 start.
Please note the course is not intended to be therapeutic but some healing does happen. Those who are freshly immersed in grief may find it difficult to focus on the content. (Refer to Fr.Michael, or Fr.Daniel if you have any concerns). The course is open to all and is not restricted just to Saint Albans Congregation. All are welcome to attent our 9:30am Mass beforehand but this is not necessary to attend the course.
