Talking Cents

June 2008

Talking Cents is a group charged by the Anglican Diocesan Council to promote an alternative to current economic and political thought, and to encourage debate within the Church. Ministry Units are encouraged to distribute these articles.

Anglican World News and Notes (AWNN) Second Issue

The theme of the current edition digests the recent Joint Standing Committee Meeting of the Primates and the Anglican Consultative Council, held at the Anglican Communion Office in London. All items are for your free use including the photographs.

Lambeth Bible Studies for All
The focus of July's Bible studies at Lambeth is the 'I am' sayings of Saint John's Gospel. The Archbishop of Canterbury has encouraged as many as possible in the Communion to make such preparation a priority.

Usual Worship Times

Sundays
8.30am Anugrah, Tikanga Pasifika Holy Communion in Hindi (except First)
10.30am - Mass in English.. We use New Zealand Prayer Book (page 404) for 10.30 services.
10.00am Serbian Orthodox congregation meet in the Church Hall.
12.30pm - - Saint Alban's Tongan Holy Communion - Tikanga Pasifika
5pm - First Sunday Anugrah Eucharist, all other Sundays the Service of Evensong in English takes place in Saint George's Chapel. This is a very quiet, reflective service for which we use the 1662 / 1928 Book of Common Prayer. Sometimes sung.

Wednesdays
10.00am Service of Holy Communion in English takes place in the Church.
07.00pm Saint Dionysius Orthodox Indian Evening Prayer, Chapel of Saint Dionysius, Saint Alban's Church (First Wednesdays
